Tin Whistle

Every Friday our school is filled with lively music, as our girls play their tin whistles. The man behind this operation is local musican Jimmy Morrison, originally from Castlelyons. Jimmy is a multi-instrumentalist, playing pipes, button accordion and tin-whistle. He is a highly regarded musician in the traditional music scene, his latest endeavour being a tour of Ireland with Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. He teaches a range of tunes to the classes 2nd - 6th, which the girls perform at various school events such as Presentation Day, various religious services, Christmas, Open Night and end of year concerts. We are delighted to have such a talented musican as part of our team here at Presentation!
Through learning the tin whistle, the girls get a chance to develop their musical ability, to gain experience and confidence at performing in front of others and over all to have lots of fun!
