School Attendance Policy

Policies

The National Educational Welfare Board (N.E.W.B.) was established to support school attendance and follow up on children who are not attending school regularly.

School attendance will be monitored at all times and where concerns arise the following letters may be sent to parents.

> Letter regarding a child's absence where no contact has been made with the school (after 15 days approx. or earlier if there is serious concern).

> Letter regarding a child's absence where the school is concerned about a child's non-attendance and the concern is being passed to the N.E.W.B.

> Letter regarding a child's absence where the school is not concerned about the pattern of absences but where the child's name is being passed to the N.E.W.B.

Parents will be asked to meet with the School Principal to discuss concerns regarding poor attendance.
Full school attendance will be rewarded at the end of each school year.
