Blanket for Nova

Childrens' Activities

In September, 6 Class with the help of Sr. Eucharia started knitting. Every Tuesday the children brought in their needles and wool to finish knitting a square. By November they had successfully finished a 50 square blanket.
A few girls were selected to stitch it together. All the girls brought in money to buy tickets to raffle the blanket. With the money raised, the class walked down town to Dealz and bought hats, gloves and socks. They were given to a local man Paudie O’Mahony who works with the homeless in Novas in Limerick. He passed them on. The pupils then received a lovely letter saying how thankful they were and that on Christmas morning, they would put the socks that the children gave them into special presents for them. They also put the donations into their soup run van and gave them straight out to the homeless. The girls in 6 class are very proud.
